Celebrate The United Methodist Church's 50th Anniversary

Fifty years ago, Evangelical United Brethren (EUB) Bishop Rueben H. Mueller and Methodist Bishop Lloyd C. Wicke joined hands over a table laden with symbols---the Bible, hymnals, books of Discipline and a 307-page "Plan of Union." 1,300 delegates and 10,000 visitors met in Dallas, Texas on April 23, 1968 proclaiming the formation of the newly-constituted United Methodist Church.

Bishop appoints Rev. Jeffry Bross as new Aurora District Superintendent

Bishop Sally Dyck is pleased to announce the appointment of the new Aurora District Superintendent, Rev. Jeffry Bross, effective July 1, 2018. Rev. Bross has served as the Associate at Batavia UMC and then founding pastor of Flowing Grace UMC which chartered four years ago. He has served on the Aurora District Committee on Ordained Ministry as well as the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry. Rev. Bross follows Rev. Dick Wisdom who has been appointed to Plainfield: First UMC, also effective July 1, 2018.

Shepherding Teams learn adaptive leadership

On Mar. 10 the Annual Conference Shepherding Team (ACST) and members from the six newly formed District Shepherding Teams (DST) came together as a group for the first time to mobilize and tackle the task of learning about adaptive leadership. Consultant Rev. Susan Beaumont led the group’s full-day workshop at Barrington United Methodist Church to introduce how to lead through adaptive change.
