Submit News

We welcome submissions from churches, committees, ministries, and groups connected to our conference and United Methodist-related. Please see the guidelines and style guide below. Please contact our communications staff at with any questions.


Our weekly email newsletter, the NIC eNews, is published every Thursday. Please submit stories and events by end of business Tuesdays. Space is limited.

Our print newsletter, the NIC Reporter, is published monthly. Please allow 4-6 weeks for stories to appear in print.

Our website is updated throughout the week. Please allow 2-3 business days for editing and formatting of content.


We welcome articles from churches highlighting ministries, outreach, and missions which tell the story of being vital Christians. Events considered should be of conference-wide appeal and United Methodist-related. For District events, please contact your Regional Administrator. Classifieds except for job listings may not be considered at this time.

Please send content in Microsoft Word or in the body of an email. Stories of fewer than 500 words are preferred. Longer documents may be posted as downloadable resources. Please do not submit Microsoft Publisher files. PDF flyers are welcome, please send as an attachment. Submissions will be edited at the discretion of Communications staff.


Photos and graphics should be in .jpg format. For print publication in the Reporter, please send the file at full resolution to Web and screen resolutions use photos at about 72 pixels per inch. Print media needs 300 pixels per inch.


The conference calendar is reserved for events that are run by conference staff, committees, and groups. Please send your event posting request to for review.

District calendars are managed by district offices. Please send your district or local church event information to the appropriate regional office for review.

We encourage all conference staff, boards, agencies, committees and work areas to submit resources to be shared on this site. Please contact for more information. We accept text, Powerpoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, .pdf and .mp3 files. We are also happy to include links to resources at other United Methodist conferences, agencies or organizations.
