Deadlines

Our weekly email newsletter, the NIC eNews, is published every Wednesday. We highlight stories that appear on our website. 

District eNews are sent out the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. Please submit stories and events by end of business on the 2nd and 4th Mondays. Space is limited. Stories of fewer than 250 words are preferred.

Content

We welcome articles from churches highlighting ministries, outreach, and missions that tell the story of being vital Christians in Northern Illinois United Methodist congregations. Events considered should be of conference-wide appeal and United Methodist-related. For district events, please contact your regional (districts) administrator. We accept job availability announcements but no other advertising.

It's best to contact us in advance to discuss how the conference can best place your story. Send an email message to the communications office.

Please send content in Microsoft Word or in the body of an email. Stories of fewer than 500 words are preferred. Longer documents may be posted as downloadable resources. Please do not submit Microsoft Publisher files. PDF flyers are welcome; please send as an attachment. Submissions are subject to editing and will be shared at the discretion of the communications office.

Pictures

We would love to have photos that accompany your story.  Photos and graphics should be in .jpg format and attached to the email, not placed in a pdf or document. For online use, the photo resolution should be at about 72 pixels per inch. For photos that may be used in print media, resolution should be 300 pixels per inch.

Events

The conference calendar is reserved for events that are run by conference staff, committees, and groups and open to the entire conference or specific district. Please send your event posting request to the communications staff for review. This document can help with the information we need.

We encourage all conference staff, boards, agencies, committees, and work areas to submit resources to be shared on this site. Please contact the communications staff first.
