Camp and Retreat Ministry Task Force Seeks Feasibility Planning Approval

The Northern Illinois Annual Conference will consider legislation to continue the work of the Camp and Retreat Ministry Task Force and guide discernment, feasibility, and transition planning for 2026–2027. The proposal affirms Outdoor and Retreat Ministry as vital to the conference’s mission and supports further study toward a sustainable, mission-aligned future, including exploration of a single-site model. It also authorizes continued planning and next steps while remaining accountable to the conference.

Building Faith, Friendships, and a Second Family at Camp

J.O.Y. (Jesus, Others, You) Camp has become like a second family for many, offering children a safe space to grow in faith, build friendships, and discover their God-given gifts. This year’s theme, focused on “You,” reminded the 64 campers that they are deeply loved by God and called to shine as God’s light in the world. With classic camp fun alongside meaningful faith lessons, J.O.Y. Camp continues to impact lives thanks to the faithful support of NIC congregations.

JOY Camp welcomes fifth-graders through high schoolers

Young people starting fifth grade through newly graduated high-school students can participate in JOY Camp, June 23-29, a popular camp annually at Camp Reynoldswood, Dixon, IL. All are welcome, regardless of where they are in their journey of faith.

Bishop Calls for Prayer for Storm Victims

During the first days of April, a number of Northern Illinois communities have been battered by storms. These include Belvidere, where a tornado touched ground on April 1, and Camp Reynoldswood, which suffered damage to the roof of one of its buildings on April 4.

Summer Camp Registration Open

Summer camps will be held in person at Camp Reynoldswood in Dixon, IL from June through August. Online registration is open.

Jumpstart Youth Ministry February Resources

Our theme for February, “Know Your Story/Own Your Story”, continues that encouragement for youth workers. It may sound cliché, but it is true: be yourself—know who you are and how you got here, and be open and willing to share that.
