Mission Challenge 2024

The NIC Board of Global Ministries is coordinating with Midwest Mission to organize its annual conference collection drive for Midwest Mission’s Most Needed Items.

Donations will be accepted on Sunday afternoon, June 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Monday morning, June 17 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m..

Bring your donations to the Midwest Mission truck, which will be located in the east parking lot outside the Schaumburg Convention Center. 


FINANCIAL DONATIONS AND BULK PURCHASES

If you prefer to make a financial contribution, you can:

  • Give to Midwest Mission #50000150 through the online apportionment process. 
  • Write a check to the Northern Illinois Conference with Midwest Mission #50000150 in the memo section 
    • Send it to the conference treasurer’s office 
    • Bring the check to Annual Conference. 

If you prefer to make a bulk purchase, you can take advantage of competitive prices. Purchases from these sites will be shipped directly to Midwest Mission.

  • Home Care Kits 
    • Liquid Household Cleaner, 54 - 80 oz. (no spray bottles)
    • Liquid Dish Soap, 42 - 64 oz.
    • Liquid Laundry Detergent, 100-150 oz. 
    • Scrub Brushes
    • 5 Gallon Round Buckets With Resealable Lid
  • Personal Dignity Kits 
    • Hand towels (no kitchen towels)
    • Washcloths (no dishcloths)
    • Toothbrushes (no multipack)
    • Bars of Soap, 3-4 oz.
    • Shampoo Bottles, 12-19 oz.
    • Deodorant, 2-3 oz. (stick, roll on, or pump)
    • Lotion Bottles, 8-10 oz.
    • Gallon Resealable Plastic Bags
  • Adult Bicycles 

MIDWEST MISSION WILL ALSO BE COLLECTING THE FOLLOWING:

  • Items listed in Midwest Mission Kits 
  • Bleacher Wood to make into student desks - Click here for more information.
  • Fire Fighting Equipment - They accept fire equipment, firetrucks, jaws of life, and ambulances. The fire equipment can be expired and will be sent outside of the United States. Click here for more information.
  • Sewing machines - Electric machines must be in good, working condition. All treadle machines are accepted. They do not take electronic machines.
  • Hand tools  -  New and gently used shovels, brooms, rakes, and tarps
  • Blankets - New or slightly used 
  • Medical supplies -  Wheelchairs, crutches, canes, folding walkers, walking boots, slings (used or new), orthopedic supplies and shower chairs
  • Bicycles - In good, working condition with minimal to no rust, all types and sizes

Please Note:

Midwest Mission cannot accept medications, bedside commodes, power or rusty tools, tricycles, scooters, bike parts, or any bike that is rusty or cannot be repaired.
