Bishop Announces Assistant to the Bishop Transition

Rev. Arlene Christopherson, the Northern Illinois Conference assistant to the bishop, will retire on Sept. 1. Rev. Danita Anderson will follow her in that role.

Bishop Announces New Lake North District Superintendent

Bishop Dan Schwerin has announced the appointment of Rev. Victor O. Melad Jr. as Lake North District Superintendent, effective July 1. Rev. Melad currently serves Edison Park and Oak Park: St. John’s and will follow Rev. Brittany Isaac, who has been appointed as lead pastor of Arlington Heights: First, effective July 1.

Bishop Announces New Prairie Central District Superintendent

Bishop Dan Schwerin has announced the appointment of Rev. Wendy Hardin Hermann as Prairie Central District superintendent, effective July 1, 2024. Rev. Hardin Hermann currently serves at Mt. Prospect: Trinity and will follow Rev. Jeffry Bross, who has been appointed as lead pastor at Libertyville United Methodist Church effective July 1, 2024.

Rev. Brittany Isaac, the superintendent of the Lake North District, will become lead pastor of First United Methodist Church in Arlington Heights and Rev. Jeffry Bross, superintendent of the Prairie Central District, will become pastor of Libertyville United Methodist Church, Bishop Dan Schwerin has announced. Both appointments are effective July 1.

Rev. Jongmin Martin Lee, director of congregational development and redevelopment for the Northern Illinois Conference of The United Methodist Church, will retire on July 1, 2024, announced Bishop Dan Schwerin.
