Rev. Brittany Isaac, the superintendent of the Lake North District, will become lead pastor of First United Methodist Church in Arlington Heights and Rev. Jeffry Bross, superintendent of the Prairie Central District, will become pastor of Libertyville United Methodist Church, Bishop Dan Schwerin has announced. Both appointments are effective July 1.
Rev. Brittany Isaac
“Leading in this role through the challenges of a global pandemic and the unprecedented work of disaffiliation, Rev. Isaac has been a blessing to the Northern Illinois Conference,” Bishop Schwerin said. “As a keen analysist with the heart of a church planter and a deep abiding faith, Brittany brought vision and focus to the congregations and clergy on her district. I am grateful for her service and look forward to all that she will bring to her new role.”
The bishop spoke appreciatively of Rev. Bross as well, describing him as “a creative, energetic servant of Christ who brings insight, deep faith, and a heart for church growth to his ministry.”
Rev. Jeffry Bross
“He was quick to pivot during the pandemic, offering innovation and encouragement to his churches and clergy,” Bishop Schwerin said. I am grateful for his service to the Northern Illinois Conference as a member of the cabinet and I look forward to seeing good things take place at Libertyville United Methodist Church as Jeffry assumes the role of lead pastor there.”
The appointment of the subsequent district superintendents is under consideration and will be announced at a later date.
