NCJ delegates talk anti-racism and future, vote to reduce bishops

Approximately 250 delegates participated in the official North Central Jurisdictional Special Called session via Zoom, and others from across the 10-conference jurisdiction watched it live online. Delegates spent the majority of their time together on three big topics of conversation—dismantling racism, the future of episcopal leadership, and the future of The United Methodist Church.

NIC General/Jurisdictional Update

Since the election of the delegation team in 2019, Northern Illinois Conference delegates have been meeting regularly and diligently, preparing for the upcoming General and Jurisdictional Conferences. Despite changing situations, due to the cancelations or postponements, of General and Jurisdictional Conferences, or considerations for virtual gatherings, the NIC delegation team remained resilient and adaptive.
