Funded by the 2023 Bishop's Appeal
As followers of Jesus, we take seriously the commandment to welcome the strangers in our midst. Whether they traveled from Venezuela on foot, crossed the southern border of the US seeking asylum and were put on buses to Chicago, or flew across the ocean from Ukraine to escape the Russian invasion, we want to offer compassion, love, and care to our neighbors.
Northern Illinois Conference churches and related organizations that provide programs, activities, or direct assistance for migrants in their community may apply. Priority will be given to ministries that show potential for directly benefitting migrants, be they individuals or families. Projects that also receive support from other community-wide organizations, whether as in-kind, volunteer hours, or financial contributions, are especially encouraged to apply.
Grants will range from $500 to $2500.
The Bishop’s Appeal Grant Award Team will review applications on a first-come, first-served basis until the funds are expended. The team will meet monthly or as needed to review applications.
