CA2BC is a collaboration of community groups and institutions, including both secular and faith-based organizations, working toward a more inclusive society. We seek to bring people together by creating a space where people will, through films/books and meaningful conversations, engage with each other, foster friendships, and take action to build our community.
A Blueprint for Racial Healing will be shown at various locations during August. Our feature film, A Binding Truth, will be shown in various locations and online from Wednesday, September 10 to Tuesday, September 16.
A Blueprint for Racial Healing Information A Binding Truth Information
A Blueprint for Racial Healing and A Binding Truth were chosen to work together as the media for our discussion events for 2025. With a similar theme, they are the stories of two different Black and white families coming together to tell the true history of Racism. These families, and thousands like them, are currently on this powerful journey of discovery and healing.
While both tell inspirational stories of overcoming the lasting trauma of slavery and racial terrorism, they also illustrate how few changes have happened in the decades between today, 1966, and 1871. Each is a powerful story on its own, but together they give us hope as we watch their journeys unfold from strangers to beloved family and the action steps the white Simrills, the Black Simrils, and the Kirkpatricks have taken to right the wrongs of a near lynching in 1871 and personal racial terrorism in 1966.
If families of the enslaved and enslavers can get to know each other and form deep family connections, then anything is possible. Join us for these two events, which build upon each other, as we explore these stories and discover how we can help make connections like this happen.
Are there events and/or activities that you would like to share about getting involved in racial justice or social justice work? If so, please click here to share. Events must be received at least 3 weeks prior to the event and related to racial and social activism.
