Pentecost Gathering in Freeport Area Raises Hope
Hope was alive on May 31 as an intergenerational group of over 300 from 16 Freeport-area churches gathered at the Oakdale Tabernacle to celebrate Pentecost.
Starting immediately, the Northern Illinois Conference is merging the two billing sites (on Prosper) for property insurance billing. Users now will need only one login for all their invoicing (xxxx@churches.nic). Property insurance bills will appear on the same invoice as health insurance and pension bills.
"We have learned from users that the multiple logins to Prosper is very confusing," said David Quinn, NIC's apportionments administrator/office manager. "We heard them, and we appreciate their feedback."
With this change, property insurance premiums will now be billed monthly rather than quarterly. Churches will be required to pay 1/12 of their premiums every month.
"We made a huge effort to get everybody to use both logins," Quinn said. "However, users let us know that this was confusing, so we have decided to find a simpler approach.
"We hope that requiring only one login will streamline the process and eliminate confusion."
Quinn emphasized that it is now even more important for churches to include a copy of their invoice when mailing in premium payments. This clarifies how churches want the payment applied and willl minimize errors.
Staff expressed gratitude for churches' patience as the new process was implement.
"We hope churches find it easier and more convenient," Quinn said.
The conference is still awaiting new rates from the insurance company and hopes to receive the information soon.
