Worship Virtually Zoom Call

Location: ZOOM

Let's talk about best practices and how to worship virtually this Thursday, March 19 at 10 am and 1 pm!

Through a Zoom video-conference call, the Northern Illinois Conference will offer church leaders two opportunities. The morning call will be led by leaders from Urban Village Church (UVC) in Chicago and will share how UVC is using Livestreaming, Facebook Live, YouTube and other creative uses of technology to continue communicating with their faith communities. Watch the recorded 10am meeting by clicking here.

The afternoon video/chat will be hosted by Rev. Dawn Chesser, an ordained NIC elder who transferred to the Holston Conference and former Director of Preaching Ministries at the UM General Board of Discipleship. She also holds a Ph.D. in liturgical studies with a dissertation on online worship. Chesser will be joined by Rev. Taylor Burton-Edwards, a consultant for InfoServ/Ask The UMC with United Methodist Communications. They will discuss best practices for online worship content and copyright guidelines.

Whether you're a beginner or have some experience with online technology, we will offer information to help get you started and how to expand your current capabilities. Watch the recorded 1 pm meeting by clicking here.
