After 15 years at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, the Northern Illinois Annual Conference session will be held at a new location in 2019.

After a search for an ideal location to fit the Conference's needs, the Annual Conference Committee has chosen the Schaumburg Convention Center for the next site.

"Pheasant Run has been home for our Annual Conference sessions for many years but everything that has a beginning is bound to come to an end," said Rev. Alka Lyall, Annual Conference Chair. "This relationship was a good one and like any relationship - had its great moments and its challenges."

Lyall said the Schaumburg Convention Center is more modern, spacious, affordable, cleaner and accommodating.

NIC Accessibilities Chair Rev. Terry McDorman said after a site visit, he was pleased with the facilities and its accessible friendly atmosphere.

"The facility is extremely accessible for everyone," said McDorman.  "There is plenty of free parking- even handicap parking. The restrooms are nice and the hotel rooms are designed for those with mobility, vision or hearing challenges with all the bells and whistles, including bathrooms with wheelchair access."

Rooms

The Schaumburg Convention Center is conveniently located at 1551 N. Thoreau Drive just off of Interstate 90 with easy access from the West, East, North, and South. Lyall says the Convention Center is about the same distance in mileage to Pheasant Run for many churches.

Schaumburg offers almost 500 restaurants in the vicinity and numerous hotels that cost under $100 per night within 1 mile of this facility. The Renaissance in the Convention Center is about $20 more than Pheasant Run.

The facility will also allow for onsite childcare which will offer a great convenience to parents and guardians attending Annual Conference.

We look forward to a new and exciting place for our Annual Conference business, worship, and fellowship. See you in 2019!
