Almost 200 March for Justice for Immigrants
About 150 Northern Illinois United Methodists marched to demonstrate their support of justice for immigrants on June 15, near the Schaumburg Renaissance Convention Center.
Rosalind Marie Swanson, spouse of retired Northern Illinois Conference member Rev. Rolla C. Swanson passed away on August 15, 2024, at The Pearl of Orchard Valley. During Rev. Swanson’s ministry, he served: Chicago: Bethany, McHenry: Mt. Hope, Chicago: St. Stephen’s, Harvey: First, Chicago: Ashburn, Oswego: Good Shepherd, Woodridge, Minooka as well as GBGM as a missionary in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe and Faith-Westwood United Methodist Church in Omaha, Nebraska.
Mrs. Swanson was 81 years old.
A memorial service will be held on August 21, 2024 at 5 p.m. at the Batavia United Methodist Church located at 8 North Batavia Avenue, Batavia, IL.
