Mrs. June Porter, surviving spouse of the late Rev. John Porter of the Northern Illinois Conference, passed away on Dec. 4, 2025.
During his ministry in the Northern Illinois Conference, Rev. Porter served the Chicago Center for Black Religious Studies from 1962 to 1974 and Christ Church Chicago from 1979 to 1995.
Mrs. Porter was 91 years old.
The visitation will take place on Friday, Dec. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Leak & Sons Funeral Home, 7838 S. Cottage Grove Ave., Chicago.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20, at New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church, 754 E. 77th St., Chicago.
