First quarter giving in 2026 is off to a strong and encouraging start across the Northern Illinois Conference, with significant gains in every area compared to 2025. Apportionment giving has reached 75% (up from 60% last year), with more than $1 million already received. Health and Pension contributions stand at 91% (compared to 69% in 2025), Clergy Responsibility has risen to 88% (up from 74%), and Property Insurance has seen the most dramatic improvement—99% collected compared to just 45% at this time last year.
These numbers reflect a shared commitment to strengthening the ministry and mission of the church. As Bishop Schwerin shares, “I’m grateful for the results and the good process. We will get healthier, innovate, and impact more people for Jesus Christ this way.”
