IN A WORLD OF BUBBLES
DO YOU AND CHURCH WANT AN EXPERIENCE
OF WALKING IN THE SHOES OF ANOTHER?
COME SATURDAY AUGUST 19, 2017 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. TO A SIMULATION WORKSHOP –
Sponsored by CCUIR (NIC Commission on Christian Unity and Interreligious Relationships)
at Winfield United Methodist Church 0s582 Jefferson St, Winfield, IL 60190
This will be an interactive simulation experience to gain empathy and compassion as a means of beginning dialogue, by being emersed in various scenarios faced in the world today. Teams will engage in these stories as a means of placing ourselves in the shoes of “the other.” Thereby we can build empathy and compassion as a basis for ecumenical/interfaith/interreligious dialogue, which begets mission and service.
Like last November’s Building God’s Beloved Community: a Cultural Competency Training, the goal is for you to be able to share this type of experience in local church settings.
To register call or email, CCUIR chairperson,. Megan Dean, 312-715-8752, Good Shepherd UMC (630) 830-3003, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
