Dwayne Jackson

The Northern Illinois Conference announces Dwayne Jackson will serve as the new Director of Risk Management & Ministry Protection. He brings 33 years of professional risk, claims and loss control experience working for international corporations that include The Boeing Company and RR Donnelley & Sons, inclusive of Marsh USA Inc. and Liberty Mutual Insurance on the broker and carrier side.

A lifelong resident of Chicago, Dwayne attended Mt. Carmel High School and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Political Science and Public Administration, from Drake University. Additional scholastic curriculum includes graduate level coursework at DeVry University, formally Keller Graduate School of Management, and accelerated business development training from the renown Boeing Leadership Center. As a travel enthusiast, his journeys include venturing to sites both domestic and international.

Dwayne is available to answer questions and provide assistance in the following key areas:

  • Annual Insurance Allocation – Cost of insurance allocated to respective churches/camps/religious ministries
  • Explanation of Insurance – Amount of deductibles, applicable coverages and policy limits
  • Claim Advocacy – Assistance with claims (e.g. Property, General Liability, Auto Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Boiler, etc.) filed with respective insurance carriers
  • Loss Control – Review and assessment of safety hazards
  • Training – Operational practices and procedures

In addition to the above, Dwayne is charged with a number of duties and tasks that come with management of the Conference’s insurance program for our 400 churches, camps and religious organizations. To name a few, designing the Property and Casualty insurance structure, instituting a program to calculate the insurance/replacement values for our vast number of churches; and developing an audit program to assess churches’ accounting and business practices.

At the forefront, he is directing the implementation of our new insurance broker, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., who is set to direct our insurance placement, coverage design/structure and issuance of Certificates of Insurance commencing January 1, 2017.

Within the next two weeks churches should anticipate receiving a packet containing the following information directly from Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.:

  • Summary of Insurance Coverage
  • Updated Certificates of Insurance
  • Claim Reporting Kit

As we shepherd in the New Year, please look forward to meeting Dwayne at the upcoming LEAD training sessions scheduled in January & February 2017 in the various districts, along with representatives from Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
