Content Submission Guidelines

We welcome submissions from anyone connected to our conference. Please see the guidelines and style guide below. Please contact our communications staff at communications@umcnic.org with any questions.

Corrections

If you notice incorrect information, bad links, or any other problems, please fill out this form to notify us.


We welcome all feedback and will address it as soon as possible. Our website is going on to perfection. Thank you for your patience and assistance.

Please send corrections to our church or clergy directory listings to your district office or on the same form.

Stories

We believe there is power in testimony and first-person witness. We value stories of changed lives and creative approaches to ministry, whether in a neighborhood church or in service around the world. We believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ changes everything–if you see evidence of that change in your life, we want to hear about it.

Events

The conference calendar is reserved for events that are run by conference staff and groups. Please send your event posting request to communciations@umcnic.org for review.

District calendars are managed by district offices. Please send your district or local church event information to the appropriate district office for review. 

Resources

We encourage all conference staff, boards, agencies, committees and work areas to submit resources to be shared on this site. Please contact communications@umcnic.org for more information. We accept text, Powerpoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, .pdf and .mp3 files. We are also happy to include links to resources at other United Methodist conferences or organizations.

Deadlines

Our weekly email newsletter, the NIC eNews, is published every Thursday. Please submit stories and events by end of business Tuesdays. Space is limited.

Our print newsletter, the NIC Reporter, is published monthly. Please allow 4-6 weeks for stories to appear in print.

Our website is updated throughout the week. Please allow 2-3 business days for editing and formatting of content.

Text

Please send text in Microsoft Word or in the body of an email. Stories of fewer than 500 words (1-2 pages) are preferred. Longer documents may be posted as downloadable resources. Please do not submit Microsoft Publisher files.

Pictures

Photos and graphics should be in .jpg format. For print publication in the UM Reporter, please send the file at full resolution to communications@umcnic.org. For web publishing, the ideal size is 390 pixels wide.
